be your own girl

I just got a really great compliment. I passed Ed MacDonald's office just now, and he stopped me to say that, although he hasn't yet read the letter from the Guardian the other day, a few people had asked him about it and said that it was good. Now, I love writing, but I don't often think it is that grand. However, just to hear him say that people thought it was well done is so exciting for me!

Of course, I owe it all to Ed for allowing me to take his class this semester. The artifactory was also a unique and fabulous opportunity. I knew from the start that if I got in to Applied History, it would make a great impact on me. It has, and I am thankful.

Hey, that's great! It's always such a boost to hear that something we have done is seen in a positive light by others. It's an affirmation of our personal abilities, and zaps away some of the ghosts of self doubt that hovers over us. Good for you! I'm really happy for you. :) I always found that you never gave yourself enough credit, but there is a depth and intelligence within you, that I don't even think you realize you have. Believe me, it's there.

I read your letter to the editor all the way from france, and I thought it was great!
I also took public history with ed and loved it. even though I was placed at province house, where I actually work, I got to work on some really interesting projects. and a course with ed is never- ever- wasted.

Ed is definitely the best. I actually got to see your History Minute too. He showed them as an expample of what we were supposed to do. Good job by the way. And thanks for the compliment. Your writing has always impressed me.

I missed that issue of the Guardian, would you be willing to post it on your website Joy? I would really like to see it first hand.
