don't you know that it's a fool who plays it cool

I'm baaack. I didn't have much to say for a while. My blogging tends to go in spurts. But I was having so much fun that I just didn't have the time, folks. And that's the way I like it.

Canada Day was a ball. I was off in the evening for the first time in years and I actually got to enjoy the Festival of Lights fireworks from the park. Interesting. The show may not have been too spectacular, but the company was great. Same goes for the concerts. I had great company who, despite my pleas, put me up on their shoulders for as long as I would let them. Thanks guys. It really was a great view. I just didn't want to be knocked down by any stray crowd surfers. The show Friday night (the only one I attended) was fabulous. Sam Roberts blew me away again. No sip from his drink this time, but his set and the song he played with Matt Mays was awesome. The Hip also put on a great show, leaving Gord with sweat dripping off of him by the end of it. What a performance.

And then there were the bars. I didn't drink the whole weekend because I was on meds for my throat. Well,I did have a sip or two of Laura's purple Rev on Canada Day, but only because I had to toast Melissa having her baby!! Jacob is beautiful and perfect as expected. EEE! Despite my sobriety I, and I believe everyone else had a great time.

And ever since then, I have been feeling high. A few trips to the beach, a bad burn, some camping, even an adventure out on the random back roads of PEI have kept me in awe of the beauty in my life. I can smell the rose, and it's mighty fine.
