are you happy now

I just came from student services. I cannot graduate at UPEI with an Arts degree without a major. It's not really surprising, but I had hoped I could leave this place with something. I don't know if I want to come back or not. It's not technically wasted time if I don't do anything with the courses that I have because I have learned a lot over the years. Then again, I only have a few courses left to take for a major and then I get to take a lot of electives. It could be fun. Nothing is ever final, so why do I feel like the decision looms over me so heavily?

I am mine

I just met my adopted grandmother on the street on my walk over. She is just the sweetest thing you could ever meet, generous and funny and amazing. I am here at the library to get myself out of the house and since I finished up People of Heaven I am going to see if they have another page turner. Jill is off on her interview for a non-existing job, but I am sure she will do excellent and will make such an impression that they will be looking for work for her to do. And then there is me. I have been getting very little work which not great, but as always I am sure it will pick up soon, along with the weather maybe?!

more than words

It seems lately I can't find the inspiration to actually write something worth while on this page. Usually all it takes is a moment, but my ideas aren't forthcoming or at least aren't interesting enough to put down. And of course this is just the time I am asked to do a speech for my local Rotary Club. I did one before I left so I know how grateful and nice these people are but it is still frightening; moreso than death according to some statistics.

Hehe, here is a good one:

A panda walks into a cafe. The panda orders a sandwich, eats it and then fires a gun into the air. On his way out, he tosses a badly punctuated wildlife manual at the confused bartender and directs him to the entry marked "Panda."
Whereupon the bartender reads: "Panda. Large black-and-white bearlike mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

Okay, so it's really cheezy but there is a book that is actually based on the poor grammar of that joke [eats{,}shoots and leaves] and it is really pretty good. I love reading again thanks to Lara and her portable library, and thank you Jenn too for my current read "People of Heaven".
